An excellent piece on the Obama administration, the media, and abuses of power. Except this sentence:
“Now, no one knows what the hell their own government is doing with drones in places like Waziristan and Somalia, nor the futility and misery we inflicted in Iraq and Afghanistan.”
“We”? After all this, we’re still sticking to the we-are-the-government story? You feel enough kinship with George W. Bush and Donald Rumsfeld that you feel a part of their activities? Might there be a danger in thinking this way? Might this in fact be the most important ingredient in the warmakers’ linguistic arsenal?
