I attended the Mises University last week and loved the experience. I have long wanted to start practicing my writing skills through a blog, but never took the initiative to actually start one. After hearing your speech, I have been inspired to start!
My question is simple. I want to start a blog about economic/political issues on WordPress. However, I do not know what would be the best title for the blog. I am not asking you to come up with creative ideas (but if you want to I wouldn’t mind!), but I do want to know if you think it would be better to have a creative URL, or to use my name [e.g., johnsmith.wordpress.com].
What do you think would be better in terms of traffic to the site?
I think it’s better to come up with a blog name and use that. Your name alone may give the impression that your blog is more an idiosyncratic collection of thoughts peculiar to you than a place where they can count on getting a particular thing (e.g., Austrian economics, a libertarian take on the news, antiwar foreign-policy analysis, whatever).
