So here’s the thing. I just started a half-hour show that broadcasts at 12 noon ET every day. At first, I thought I wanted the ability to take calls. Unfortunately, the only way to do this that isn’t ludicrously cost-prohibitive is to adopt a platform that seriously degrades the show’s sound quality.
I’ve decided this is too high a price for being able to take calls. I have an excellent, top-notch audio setup and should be getting perfect sound quality. So no more live stream, starting as soon as I can get away with it. I’ll record the programs in advance, like everyone else.
But here’s my question: how can I interview people? The most common way, apparently, is to use Skype for the guest, and your own mic/mixer for yourself. That way, I get decent quality for the guest and perfect quality for myself. On the other hand, this solution (which I would need someone to walk me through, step by step) seems to imply that I’m going to wind up with two audio tracks that would then need to be synced. Now this is getting to be a lot of work.
Can anyone lend any insight here? I’ll gladly pay the going rate for a one-hour consult with someone who can help me in more detail. But I’d love to get the chat going in the comments. And thank you.
