When you’re outside the so-called mainstream, it’s encouraging to be reminded that you’re not alone.
When Pope John Paul II visited Poland in the late 1970s, the huge numbers who came out to see him looked at each other and realized for the first time how many they were, and how few the communist elite were. It was the beginning of the end of the communist regime.
Remember the Meetup groups back in 2008? Ron Paul had more than all other candidates, Democratic and Republican, put together. (Honestly, though, what profound insights were people going to discuss at a Rudy Giuliani Meetup?)
That’s how a lot of us got to know each other.
And it’s how we first began to realize that there were a lot more of us than we thought.
Thanks to the Internet and the Ron Paul campaign, I know people all over the country. No matter which city I visit, I know I have friends.
Then we had purely online communities like the Daily Paul and the Ron Paul Forums. There we learned from each other, we kept each other sane, and by and large we found that we rather liked each other.
We built genuine communities, made friends, and helped each other out in spreading the message.
Here’s one I’ve been building.
It’s called TWS Bloggers. It’s for people starting blogs and websites who take me up on my offer at tomwoods.com/publicity.
In my group, people answer each other’s questions. They offer constructive feedback. And they promote each other’s sites.
Just the other day, a member of the group posted about how delighted she was to have been interviewed on group member’s podcast. So we help each other in all kinds of ways.
As libertarians, we’re outnumbered, so we ought to help each other where we can.
If you’re considering starting a blog or website, you’ll want to join us. Entry is via

Since today’s a Bluehost flash sale (where you can lock in a ridiculous $2.95 per month for web hosting, the first thing you’ll need), it’s a great day to take the plunge.
I’ve helped people get thousands of hits on their sites. The testimonials – some of which I’ve shared with you in the past – are piling up from people who have received the Tom Woods bump.
But to get my goodies, you have to start here:

Of course, the sale gives me an excuse to trot out my countdown timer, which I love so much.
You are hereby invited to join our empire. (Ours is the good kind.)
