I am currently listening to U.S. History to 1877. Wow! Great stuff. I grew up on the Connecticut River in the Pioneer Valley of MA. I’ve lived in DC as well as Washington, PA. I currently live one town over from Narragansett, RI. I find the information on the Cavaliers, the Puritans, the Quakers, and the various Indian culture to be fascinating. I have always been studious yet I do not recall learning any of this as a child. Or maybe my engineering education pushed all this info out of my head. Regardless, I am loving the material.
I’m not far into the course, so I’ve only listened to sections done by McClanahan and you. Both of you are phenomenal orators. I listen while driving my car….
These are some kind words, to be sure. He will be even more impressed when he encounters Jason Jewell’s coverage of Western civilization (part 1, part 2); that someone could have such a command over so much scholarship on so many topics is truly astonishing.
(The course that features me the most is U.S. History Since 1877.)
