What a great conversation with Professor Jeff Herbener, associate editor of the Quarterly Journal of Austrian Economics, who has just finished recording the lectures for the brand new Liberty Classroom course “What’s Wrong With Textbook Economics.” Jeff went through the highly popular Paul Samuelson and William Nordhaus textbook, Economics, chapter by chapter, offering an Austrian critique of the entire book.
Nothing like this has ever been done before. A great many topics raised in the standard college text are not addressed one way or the other in the major Austrian treatises. Finally, students have a guide to help them as they study from a mainstream text. And people interested in the Austrian School can understand it far more deeply by seeing it compared to the mainstream version.
