Rumor has it that Donald Trump is considering a major bankster for Secretary of the Treasury.
If that ends up being the case, then Trump sure went to a lot of trouble to wind up not changing anything.
On this weekend’s episode of Contra Krugman, Bob Murphy and I spoke to the man Trump most urgently needs to speak to: David Stockman.
Stockman was the Director of the Office of Management and Budget under Ronald Reagan, and since then he’s become a pretty hardcore Austrian.
In his book The Great Deformation he wrote the most crushing refutation of the case for the bailouts I’ve ever read.
He favors abolishing the Federal Open Market Committee — the mechanism by which the Federal Reserve carries out monetary policy.
He understands exactly what the Fed has done to the economy, and what we can expect in the coming years. Trump needs to listen to Stockman — and, frankly, appoint him Secretary of the Treasury — far more than he needs to hear from another empty suit from a big bank.
Stockman gave us a pull-no-punches, no-holds-barred interview on Trump, the Democrats, and our economic future.

(1) My event in Orlando (really Winter Park) on December 1 is sold out, I’m afraid.
(2) Tonight the video showing how my mom earns passive income through an Amazon affiliate site (she writes about game-room furnishings) will be taken down forever. So if you’re curious, click here before it’s too late: http://www.tomwoods.com/mom
