I still don’t see what the big deal is about Matt Yglesias. He’s a guy with an undergrad degree from Harvard. Big whoop. He writes juvenile, bread-from-stones columns on economics that contribute nothing we couldn’t find in a million other establishment sources.
As you may know, the other day he casually referred to Rand Paul as a “white supremacist.” The actual number of white supremacists in the U.S. is about 250, and presumably even Yglesias is not so brain dead as to think otherwise. People responded with indignation to the Yglesias statement, whereupon Yglesias portrayed himself as a poor, put-upon victim of right-wing hate.
If only Mencken were alive to see all this.
