Economist Bob Murphy and I shared an office at the Mises Institute last week. The subject of Ian Anderson, of Jethro Tull fame, came up. Bob is not familiar with Ian/Tull. So I decided to come up with a listening program for him.
Thick as a Brick is too demanding to start with, as is Passion Play. Something more accessible needs to be chosen as an entry point.
To convey this to someone with Bob’s genius brain, I explained it this way: Bob, a beginner can’t start out with The Theory of Money and Credit and Human Action. He has to start with, say, Planning for Freedom or What Has Government Done to Our Money?
So I’ve chosen, based on Bob’s musical tastes, War Child, Minstrel in the Gallery, and Heavy Horses. (I had CDs shipped to his house, to guilt him into listening to them.)
